ISLAND CRUISING SOUTH PACIFIC Ltd

RALLY Rules

1. The theme of these "CRUISING RALLIES" is safety and fun and they are not intended to be an ordeal. If the weather conditions are unfavourable at the time of the intended start, it will be delayed until the weather improves.

2. The rules of cruising apply at all times and serious blue water racing is positively discouraged. Penalty - shout the whole fleet, plus the Rally committee !!

3. Motors are expected to be used when necessary to ensure that all vessels cross the finish line within the special clearance period. Any boat caught without their motor going in less than 5 knots of wind is headed for a severe penalty or possible exclusion.

4. Line Honours will be officially recognised, and a special trophy will be awarded (a bottle of rum, which in turn must be presented, unopened, to the last yacht to cross the line, this bottle then must be placed on the bar, and be dealt with forthwith!) The Rally Committee reserve the right to board all yachts, at any time or place, to have the right to sample and test the onboard stock of rum, or other liquid, to see if it is fit for human consumption !!!

5. Any skippers having the temerity to lodge a protest must first "shout the bar" prior to the protest being considered by the Rally Committee.

6. Rule 5 can be waived if the protesting yacht publicly presents the protest in a sufficiently entertaining manner at the traditional "Protest Meeting".

7. The Rally Committee will automatically disallow any protests lodged. (unless suitably bribed)

8. Prior to sailing, on all ICA Rallies, all skippers are required to give their Estimated Time of Arrival at the Finish Line. The yacht crossing the finish line closest to its given time, will be awarded a trophy.

9. Other trophies are awarded for a variety of both logical and zany reasons, such as poetry and stories made up from the entrant boat names, or some other nonsense, that the organisers may consider appropriate at the time.

10. All yachts present at the Prize giving will win a prize. Prizes are awarded by a sweepstake "draw from the hat" method, giving all entrants an equal chance.

11. All vessels must observe radio skeds on 6516 and abide by the "Conditions of Entry" and the sailing instructions.
